Scout Badge Program

Your troop will have great fun painting, creating, & learning about ceramics at The Pigeon & The Hen Pottery! With programs for all levels of scouting, you are sure to find a program that excites your troop.

Girl Scout Mug Badge

This official Girl Scout program is designed to give scouts a behind-the-scenes experience in a pottery studio while creating a memorable piece of pottery.

The program includes:

•1 hour and 30 minutes of awesomeness.

•A 20-minute guided tour of our studio, where scouts will see the entire pottery process, including how we match and bag up finished pottery, the clear glazing process, and how kilns work.

•A fun quiz during the tour, with candy and stickers as rewards for correct answers.

•After the tour, scouts will spend the rest of their time painting their pottery pieces while learning more about our studio's operation.

This program offers a hands-on experience that combines creativity with education!

  • Price: $25 per mug (not including tax)

  • minimum of 10 kids

Pottery Wheel Badge

In this exciting program, scouts will learn the basics of working on a pottery wheel with hands-on guidance at The Pigeon and The Hen Pottery. Scouts will get in the “driver’s seat” of the wheel, learning how to shape clay into their creations.

The program also includes a behind-the-scenes tour of our glaze room and kiln area, where scouts will discover how pottery is finished, glazed, and fired. It’s a perfect blend of creativity and learning, offering an immersive pottery experience. Pottery items made will be painted on the same day.

Scout leaders will pick up all of the pieces several weeks after the event. Must be 2nd grade or older. Pottery wheel experience is 1 hour and 30 minutes of instruction with a minimum of 6 scouts and a max of 8.

Handbuilding Badge

Scouts know how awesome pottery is! So they included a pottery badge in your journey! The Pigeon & The Hen Pottery Studio to earn your Scout Badge. Learn how to make a successful handbuilt project based on a pinch pot, using scoring & slipping techniques to create something awesome! Pinch pots can become almost anything, including something useful like a custom mug, or something fun like your favorite air pod holders.

The program also includes a behind-the-scenes tour of our glaze room and kiln area, where scouts will discover how pottery is finished, glazed, and fired. It’s a perfect blend of creativity and learning, offering an immersive pottery experience. Pottery items made will be painted on the same day.

Scouts will choose two colors for their projects, our staff takes care of the rest, and leaders will pick up all of the pieces several weeks after the event. Must be 2nd grade or older.

$300 for up to 10 scouts, $30 each additional up to 20 kids.1.25hrs
